“Poster-style illustration reading ‘Something Rotten’ above a stylized portrait of William Shakespeare, whose face is splattered with a thrown tomato, with the word ‘Rotten’ in large decorative letters and an egg forming the ‘O’, on a yellow textured background.”

Viewmont Theatre is bringing big Broadway laughs to the Viewmont Auditorium with the hit musical Something Rotten, running December 1–6 at 7 p.m.

Set in the 1590s, Something Rotten follows the Bottom brothers, Nick and Nigel, as they struggle to write the next great play while living in the shadow of the Renaissance rockstar himself—William Shakespeare. Desperate for a hit, they turn to a soothsayer who predicts the future of theatre: singing, dancing, and acting all at once. The result? The world’s first musical… and a whole lot of chaos.

Packed with clever Shakespeare references, high-energy dance numbers, and over-the-top comedy, Something Rotten is a love letter to theatre that will keep audiences laughing from the opening number to the final bow. Students have been hard at work learning intricate choreography, tight harmonies, and fast-paced dialogue to bring this Tony-nominated show to life on the Viewmont stage.

Performances will be held December 1–6 at 7 p.m. in the Viewmont Auditorium. Families, friends, and community members are invited to come support our talented cast, crew, and pit orchestra.

Tickets and additional information are available by scanning the QR code on the show posters around campus or by visiting tiny.cc/viewmontarts.
